How to Delete an AOL Account?

Closing an AOL account is a straightforward process. Delete your AOL account and deletes all your data, including your emails and email folders. If you think it’s time to farewell AOL, here’s how. 

Important: You cannot delete your AOL account from the mobile app. 

What happens when you delete an AOL account?

The important thing you should know is what happens after you close your AOL account. As soon as you delete your account, you won’t have access to your account and you’ll lose all your data, emails, and email folders. So, even though you wish to close your account, follow the step-wise instructions given below.

How to close an AOL account?

1. Go to AOL Account Closure Page. 
2. Sign in to your account.
   
   
3. Click on Continue delete my account at the bottom.
   
   
4. Type in your email address and click on Yes, terminate this account.
   
   

Your AOL account will be permanently deleted after 30 days of your account deletion. And you’ll lose access to all of your data and content like your emails and email folders.

If you change your mind and want to restore your account, log in to your account within 30 days of your account deletion.

How to cancel an AOL subscription?

Before deleting your AOL account ensure that you’ve canceled the subscription. As soon as you cancel your paid subscription, your account will change to the free AOL plan in the middle of your billing cycle but you’ll continue to have access to the service until the end of your current billing cycle. If you have any active premium subscriptions, those will continue to be billed separately.

1. Visit MyAccount.aol.com.
2. Click on My Services.
3. Click on Subscriptions.
4. Then, tap on Manage next to the plan you’d like to cancel. Verify your account if needed.
5. Click Cancel.
6. At the bottom of the page, click Cancel My Billing.
7. Now, select a reason for canceling from the drop-down menu.
8. Click Cancel My Billing.
